Watchpost Is Westland’s New Go-To Whiskey for Everyday Sipping

Seattle’s Westland Distillery, known for its dedication to American Single Malt, has launched a new whiskey—and it’s not just about what’s in the bottle, but where that bottle might take you.

Watchpost Whiskey, the distillery’s latest release, is a blended American whiskey that brings together Westland’s own 8-year-old malt with grain whiskey from “America’s heartland.” It’s crafted for drinking, not collecting, and is just as at home around a campfire as it is on a back porch. In other words, this ain’t your Westland’s Garryana American Single Malt – and that’s okay.

Each bottle of Watchpost does more than pour a good drink—it gives back. For the next two years, Westland will donate $1 from every bottle sold to the Washington Trails Association, supporting the very landscapes that inspired the whiskey. It’s a toast to the trails, and a mission worth raising a glass to.

The launch comes two years after Westland’s co-founder and longtime master distiller Matt Hofmann stepped away from the company. Hofmann, who helped shape Westland’s identity as a distinctly Northwest distillery, is now general manager at Talking Cedar, the first tribal-owned US distillery.

For Westland, Watchpost appears to be a natural extension of its Northwest roots— one that builds on the distillery’s Northwest heritage while introducing a whiskey made for everyday enjoyment, whether you’re out on the trail or relaxing back at home. Plus, with each pour supporting the Washington Trails Association, it’s one that lets you enjoy the outdoors while helping protect it, too.
