The Vancouver International Jazz Festival is off to a killer start as it unveils Grammy-winning rapper Killer Mike as a headliner.

While the 10-day festival (June 21 – 30) is known for its celebration of all things jazz, organizers are pulling out all the stops with Mike’s headlining performance on June 29th at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.  This “huge show” according to Artistic Programmers Cole Schmidt and Jeremy Page, represents a “a significant musical voice for these times.”

Fresh off his 2024 Grammy wins for Best Rap Album (“MICHAEL”) and Best Rap Song & Performance (“SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS”), Killer Mike won’t be the only award-winner to swing by the city during the Vancouver International Jazz Festival.

Although the full lineup is yet to be announced, the fest promises a wide range of artists, with free and ticketed shows happening across the city. From Granville Island, the festival hub, to downtown theatres and clubs, jazz lovers will find plenty to enjoy.

While we wait for the other acts to be revealed, tickets for Killer Mike’s show are up for grabs – so act fast as this is sure to be a hot ticket.
