Third Time’s a Charm for Seattle World Whiskey Day

Seattle World Whiskey Day is back with its in-person tasting event

It’s a little difficult to have a whiskey tasting in the middle of a pandemic. Just ask Seattle World Whiskey Day who had to postpone their 2020 dates twice due to COVID-19 restrictions.

But now, as events come back online after 14 months of virtual living, whiskey lovers can rejoice as Seattle World Whiskey Day is back on!

This time, the date is set for July 24 and the bourbons, ryes and single malts will be flowing. And if you think you may not be quite ready for a room full of people sipping whiskey side-by-side, there’s no need to worry.

This year, the Redmond Downtown Park will play host to Seattle World Whiskey Day. So, you can enjoy your tipple in the great outdoors with plenty of room and fresh air.

There will be an overflow of options with which to fill your tasting glass. Nearly two dozen distilleries will be on hand sampling their expressions.

If you are looking for options outside of whiskey, distillers may also be pouring a couple of other selections from their portfolio which could include gin, vodka, rum, or aquavit. And if you need to take a break from distilled sprits altogether, there will also be a couple of beers on tap.

This year, you don’t have to leave the event with just memories of the spirits that passed your lips. If there is something you like, you can pop into the sales tent and pick up a bottle or two and enjoy in the comfort of your home. Better yet, because of its non-profit status, you’ll save the sales tax on the bottles you buy.

Food trucks and booths will also be on hand to give you a good base and round out the experience.

Tickets for Seattle World Whiskey Day are $50 for the afternoon (1-4 pm) or evening (5-8 pm) session. If you were optimistic and bought tickets for the 2020 dates, they will be honored at the July 24 event.

Admission includes 10 tasting tickets, a souvenir event glass and a reusable bottle carrier so you may take your purchases home in safe carriage.

As always, please drink responsibly.
