Pop-up dinners with an Iceland inspired menu, a concert that has Reykjavik calling, an Icelandic folk-horror movie, and the chance to spin to win a trip to Iceland. These experiences can only mean one thing – it’s the return of ‘The Taste of Iceland Festival’ in Seattle.

As a way to celebrate the best of Icelandic culture through food, film, music, design, and more, the fest has been making a stop in Seattle for over 10 years now. Last year, the bulk of the fest was held at the National Nordic Museum in Ballard.  As the world has opened up much more over the past year, the Taste of Iceland Festival is also expanding its reach across the city with various events.

Cocktail classes on Capitol Hill at Life on Mars, performances at Seattle Center’s KEXP and a film screening at Ballard’s historic Majestic Bay are just a few happenings about town with an Icelandic flare starting next week.

The fest kicks off on October 6 at the Carlile Room with a culinary experience with Chef Bjarki Snær Thorsteinsson and Ron Anderson. Dinners with a pop-up menu inspired by Iceland will run nightly through October 8.

Also on October 6, KEXP will be host to a Reykjavik Calling concert featuring Icelandic musicians.

The events continue through the weekend with a final elemental sound bath with Energy Healer Jósa Goodlife on Sunday, October 9.

Throughout the four-day event, participants will have the chance to spin the Wheel of Prizes. If you have been to the festival  in the past you know that there are some pretty cool prizes on that wheel – including the coveted grand prize. With just the right spin you might find yourself winning a trip for two to Iceland from Icelandair, including a stay at the Silica Hotel at the famed Blue Lagoon and a 72-Hour City-card from Visit Reykjavík.

Good Luck!
