STARLUX Touches Down in Seattle
Dignitaries, international aviation enthusiasts, and the media, lined the runway at SEA-TAC airport yesterday to watch STARLUX Airlines touch down at Sea-Tac airport. The plane, piloted by STARLUX Chairman Chang Kuo-wei, continued the company’s tradition of leadership involvement in new route launches.
This marks the third U.S. gateway with nonstop flights between Seattle and Taipei for the Taiwan-based luxury carrier, adding to the airline’s existing services from Los Angeles and San Francisco. In a partnership with Alaska Airlines, STARLUX flights from Seattle are scheduled to depart three times a week providing direct access to Taipei and connections to over 20 Asian destinations.
From the tarmac, the celebration moved inside where taiko drummers from Seattle’s Mak Fai Kung Fu Dragon performed. Gifts were exchanged and the ceremonial ribbon cutting took place with local electeds (Taiwan is Seattle’s sixth largest trade partner), Alaska Airlines Chief Commercial Officer, Andrew Harrison, and STARLUX CEO Glenn Chai. And, of course, there was cake!
