Sounders FC and Seattle’s World Cup Party – the Whole City is Watching

The world’s game is coming to the Pacific Northwest in a big way.
This June, Lumen Field will serve as one of the main stages for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, hosting six matches in what’s set to be the biggest tournament in the competition’s history. For the first time, 32 clubs from every corner of the globe will compete for a brand-new, 24-carat gold-plated trophy (crafted by Tiffany & Co., no less), and engraved in 13 languages plus Braille. A symbol of global football, ready for a global stage.
Seattle Sounders FC, the first American club to win the CONCACAF Champions League, won’t just be hosting. They’ll be right in the thick of it.
Drawn into Group B, the Sounders will face a gauntlet of international heavyweights: South America’s Botafogo, La Liga powerhouse Atlético de Madrid, and European champions Paris Saint-Germain. All three matches will be played at Lumen Field, turning the stadium into ground zero for the city’s biggest soccer moments yet.
The match dates are set:
- June 15: Sounders vs. Botafogo
- June 19: Sounders vs. Atlético Madrid
- June 23: Sounders vs. PSG
Seattle won’t just be watching from the stands. For fans who can’t score a ticket, the city is throwing a series of free, all-ages watch parties at Westlake Park. Think food trucks, fan giveaways, interactive games, and one massive screen showing every kick, tackle, and goal. It’s a festival atmosphere built for soccer diehards and casual fans alike.
Here’s the full slate of watch parties:
- June 15, 6–10 p.m. – Sounders vs. Botafogo
- June 19, 2–6 p.m. – Sounders vs. Atlético
- June 23, 11 a.m.–3 p.m. – Sounders vs. PSG
- July 8 & 9, 11 a.m.–3 p.m. – Club World Cup semifinals (teams TBD)
And Hometeam is also stepping up with their own viewing party. Partnering with Sounders FC, Hometeam is throwing a block party right outside their space at 310 Occidental Ave S. Burien rapper Travis Thompson headlines the bill, while Lynnwood based hip-hop artist Yonny, and Seattle DJ (and clothing designer) Yungtada kick off the party that starts at 3 p.m. The vibes will be high, the cover charge is zero, and everyone’s invited. After Thompson’s set, the game will be shown on-site at 7 p.m. turning the party into a full-on viewing experience.
Just down the block, another celebration is brewing – literally. In honor of the Club World Cup, Lowlander, the soon-to-open brewery and tank bar (and part of Sea Creatures restaurant group) inside the RailSpur building (419 Occidental), is throwing a 10-day beer garden bash. Expect live local DJs, cold pours, and soccer on screen in the heart of Pioneer Square. From June 15 through 25, artists like Lace Cadence, DJ 100proof, Yohiness J, and Stas THEE Boss will be spinning as fans gather for match days and midday hangs. Even better? Proceeds support Forest For The Trees NW, a nonprofit helping over 150 artists shape the Pacific Northwest’s public art landscape.
Over at Kells Irish Restaurant & Pub, the energy will be flowing as freely as the Guinness. Located in the historic Butterworth Building at Pike Place Market, Kells is throwing a month-long celebration of watch parties running June 14 through July 13. Fans can catch every single Club World Cup match live – Sounders games included – in a setting that will blend old-world charm with full-on football fever. Expect hearty Irish fare, matchday drink specials, and a crowd that knows how to cheer. A family-friendly atmosphere will prevail during the day, while rowdy pub vibes are likely for those late kickoff whistles.
For fans looking to catch FIFA Club World Cup matches just a stones throw from the Space Needle, Seattle Center’s Armory has you covered. From June 14–26, the Armory will host the Global Soccer Watch Party, streaming every match live (starting at 9 a.m. or noon depending on the schedule) on their massive indoor screen. It’s a free, family-friendly way to take in the tournament atmosphere, surrounded by fellow fans.
Get ready to catch some of the best clubs on the planet, the biggest trophy of their season, and Seattle smack in the middle of it all.
