The James Beard Foundation’s Taste America series will spotlight Seattle’s culinary scene on October 23, 2024, at the Four Seasons Hotel. At the center of this celebration is Janet Becerra, the chef behind the city’s buzzy new restaurant Pancita.

Becerra, whose innovative approach at Pancita has had patrons, and the press, raving about their dining experience since its permanent opening in late 2023, will serve as the TasteTwenty host chef for the event. Her participation comes on the heels of her nomination as a finalist in this year’s James Beard Emerging Chef category.

The evening will feature a walk-around tasting showcasing some of Seattle’s best culinary talent. Becerra’s station is expected to highlight the bold Mexican flavors and techniques that have made Pancita a must-visit destination for food lovers across the region.

As part of the TasteTwenty, an annual selection of promising industry professionals, Becerra’s participation is another step in Seattle’s continued influence in the national culinary conversation.

Attendees can explore food stations hosted by Becerra and other local chefs, each presenting dishes that reflect Seattle’s deep and diverse culinary chops. The event will also include beverage stations and activations from national and local sponsors.

The Taste America series, presented by Capital One, spans 20 U.S. cities and aims to celebrate the restaurants that form the backbone of local communities. Seattle’s event promises to showcase the city’s rising talent and will only add to the already deep pool of talented cooks and chefs.

Tickets are available for purchase now, with the full lineup of participating chefs and menu details to be announced soon.
