Seattle International Film Festival Passes Now On Sale
Seattle International Film Festival Shifts Dates and Format in 2021.
Seattle International Film Festival is gearing up to screen hundreds of films from around the globe. The largest film festival in the U.S., SIFF has had to change things up a bit this year.
With the pandemic still a factor, SIFF is taking its festival online. Normally held over 25 days beginning in May, this year’s fest kicks off on April 8. And, ten days later the festival wraps up – but not before screening more than 90 feature films.
With the shift in dates, SIFF will now be able to feature films in advance of the 2021 Academy Awards. The Oscars are slated to air April 25.
In addition to the features, SIFF will also screen more than 100 short films. As with other festivals that have gone virtual this year, SIFF will also provide online events, filmmaker talks and Q&As to round out the experience.
One of the festival favorites, however, is taking a pause this year. Due to the logistical challenges of screening online, SIFF will not be presenting a Secret Festival in 2021.
The announcement of the full festival lineup is always an anticipated event. With so many films, decision trees and spreadsheets are not out of the question. That said, you’ll have to wait until March 24 before the lineup is revealed. We’ll have the rundown here. You can also sign up for SIFF eNews to get the latest.
