Are you ready to step out of the vault and into the harsh reality of the wasteland. In celebration of the upcoming Fallout series, Prime Video is bringing an immersive, in-world experience to SXSW 2024. Held at the Hotel San José in Austin, this activation will transform the parking lot into Filly, a bustling post-apocalyptic shanty-town straight out of the Fallout universe.

If you’re in Austin and consider yourself an adventurer – or a vault dweller – make sure to make your way to Hotel San José (or perhaps we should say Filly) on March 8th and 9th. This is also your chance to get a first look at Prime Video’s original series Fallout, premiering on April 12.

Test your mettle

As you know, Filly is not for the faint of heart. Test your mettle as you’ll be greeted by the sights and sounds of a society struggling to survive after nuclear fallout.

You’re likely to run across lazeabouts and aggressive locals peddling their wares in this wasteland come to life. Keep an eye out for the local “cuisine” and remember, bottle caps are the currency that keeps this society afloat. Collect enough, and you might just survive your first foray outside the vault.

Visit Ma June’s sundries and trading post while you’re there, where the shopkeeper just might teach you the art of bottle cap collecting. Photograph wasteland landmarks, hunt for pre-war artifacts, and interact with the town’s various elements – all while earning valuable bottle caps.

Need a break from the harsh realities of Filly? Grab a bite of Fancy Lad Snack Cakes or a questionable cut of “ass jerky” to fuel your exploration. Test your skills in the wasteland with activities like lassoing taxidermied creatures or firing makeshift “Junk Jets” in the shooting gallery. And, there’s always the futuristic dentist’s chair to try out, just watch out for the dentist who seems a little too interested in teeth.

Whether you’re a die-hard Fallout fan or simply seeking a memorable SXSW experience, Prime Video’s Fallout activation is a fun ride into the post-apocalyptic wasteland. So, gear up, grab your bottle caps, and get ready to step out of the vault and into Filly.
