Mixy Music Monday: Michigan Rattlers Roll Through Seattle

Northern Michigan folk-rock band Michigan Rattlers will bring their heartfelt sound to Seattle tonight, performing at Madame Lou’s as part of their extensive winter tour. The show follows the release of their third studio album, “Waving From A Sea.”

The band, comprised of lifelong friends Graham Young (guitar), Adam Reed (bass), Christian Wilder (piano), and Tony Audia (drums), formed in their Northern Michigan high school where they hit on a blend of rock, folk, Americana, and country. It’s a true brotherhood forged in the unforgiving Michigan winters and strengthened through years on the road.

Waving From A Sea,” produced by Dominic John Davis (known for his work with Jack White, Willie Nelson, and Greensky Bluegrass), explores themes of adulthood, unfulfilled dreams, and finding one’s place in the world – all delivered with the band’s characteristic emotional depth.

Tonight’s Seattle show is part of a 40+ date winter tour that began in Columbus, Ohio earlier this month. The tour includes stops in major markets such as Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Austin, New York City, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Nashville, and Boston.

If you’re fans of Michigan Rattlers, you’re likely to hear some favorites, along with some new material in what promises to be an intimate show at Madame Lou’s. The smaller venue (300 capacity) is perfect for an up-close experience with a band that is known for the connection they make with their audiences during live shows.

For those unfamiliar with the group, their music offers what critics have described as “heavy-hearted folk-rock with an aching dose of Midwestern nice” – making tonight’s performance a perfect opportunity to catch craftsmanship, authenticity, and songs that actually mean something.
