Mixy Music Monday: Bumbershoot Edition – Thee Sacred Souls

San Diego’s rising stars, Thee Sacred Souls, are set to grace the stage at Bumbershoot on Sunday, September 1. This breakout trio has quickly become a staple in the soul music scene, blending vintage and modern sounds that have caught the attention of fans and tastemakers.

After their first club dates, it didn’t take long for Daptone to snatch them up under their label. Their debut singles registered over ten million streams in just a year and caught the attention of music industry giants.

If you’re at Bumbershoot, do yourself a favor and head over to the KEXP/Fountain stage on Sunday where Thee Sacred Souls will be laying down some sounds of soul that have been described as having elements of “Chicano, Philly, Chicago, Memphis, and Panama soul.”

There’s a good chance they’ll break out “Lucid Girl” which is a single on the bands forthcoming album “Got A Story To Tell,” set for release on October 4th. The album is produced by Bosco Mann (aka Daptone co-founder Gabriel Roth).

The Bumbershoot set is their last show in the states before they hop a plane for Europe where they have sold out shows in Paris, Amsterdam, and London. After that, you won’t find them west of the Rockies, so now’s your chance. Don’t miss Thee Sacred Souls at Bumbershoot on September 1, and keep an eye out for “Got A Story To Tell,” dropping October 4th.
