Lil Woody’s is Back Again with Burger Month

One of our favorite months is fast approaching – Lil Woody’s Burger Month.  There are many reasons why we look forward to it, but it all comes down to the number four.

4 Burgers, 4 Chefs, 4 Weeks.

But before we even get to March, Burger Month teases out its throwback burger. Every year they highlight the fan favorite from the previous year.  And in 2021, that honor went to Chef Daisley Gordon’s “Du Sud” burger. Gordon is the executive chef and owner of the classic Parisian bistro at Pike Place Market, Café Campagne.

The “Du Sud” features Ground Lamb and Painted Hills Grass-Fed Beef Burger with Rosemary and Garlic, Harissa Rouille (harissa red pepper mayo), Pickled Onions and Capers, and Whipped Goat Cheese on Lil Woody’s House Bun.

The Daisley Gordon inspired burger is available February 22-28

Week 1: “K²FC

American chef and food writer, J. Kenji Lopez-Alt kicks off the first week of Lil Woody’s Burger Month. You may be familiar with his columns in the New York Times. If you happen to run into him (he now lives in Seattle) ask him about bagels.

The “K²FC” is a fried chicken sandwich with Korean Spices, Chili Oil, Dill Pickles, and Gochugaru Ranch on a Lil Woody’s Bun

Week 2: “Bombay Joe’s”

Preeti Agarwal built up a fan base with her pop-up Indian dinners called Meesha. She then found a place in Fremont where Meesah now holds down a permament spot, serving diners modern Indian cuisine. And so, Agarwal refers to her Burger Month entry as an Indian Lamb Sloppy Joe.

“Bombay Joe’s” is Lamb, Herbed Raita, and Pickled Onions on a Brioche Bun.

Week 3: “The Longgorosa Burger”

Working at Intellectual Venture’s Modernist Cuisine team (lead by Nathan Myhrvold) Aaron Verzosa took a deep dive into the craft of cooking. Now, with his lauded restaurant Archipelago, Verzosa dazzles guests with not only craft, but with the flavors of his Filipino roots.

“The Longgorosa Burger” is Painted Hills Grass-Fed Beef, Bacon Longanisa Marm, Queso de Bola, Chili Apple Orosa Sauce, Turmeric Adobo Mayo, and Winter Atchara on a Lil Woody’s Bun.

The Aaron Verzosa inspired burger is available March 15-21

Week 4: “Romesco Burger”

If you haven’t had the chance to sit down to Sunday Supper at The Corson Building, you really should. In short, Emily Crawford Dann is the chef and co-owner there and brings seasonality into everything that she does, including her creation for Burger Month.

The “Romesco Burger” is Smoked Paprika-Spiced Beef and Pork, Melty Leeks, Hazelnut-Almond Romesco Sauce, Escarole in Parsley Sauce, and mayo on a Lil Woody’s bun.

Finally, if you plan on tucking into all four burgers, grab a stamp card to start and a Lil Woody’s tote bag at the end of the event.
