Downtown, Uptown, and Beyond: SIFF Unspools May 15-25

The Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) will once again be unspooling films from around the world as it takes over downtown and beyond this spring. With a blend of international and indie cinema, the fest will run from May 15-25 spread out among 6 different theaters in the Seattle area. The fest will also offer virtual screenings through the SIFF Channel from May 26-June 1.

SIFF has also revealed its 2025 festival poster, created in partnership with longtime collaborator WONGDOODY. As a ‘kickstart” to the fest, expect to see these posters popping up all around town in the coming weeks.

As in past years, the fest will take place at a mix of SIFF’s permanent theaters and partner venues. The lineup of screening locations includes SIFF’s own theaters—SIFF Cinema Downtown, SIFF Cinema Uptown, and SIFF Film Center at Seattle Center—as well as AMC Pacific Place in downtown Seattle and Shoreline Community College.

“We all need that inspiring trip to the cinema more now than ever; the theater is a destination worth traveling to,” said SIFF Artistic Director Beth Barrett.

The festival will launch with an Opening Night Gala at The Paramount Theatre on May 15, featuring a yet-to-be-announced premiere screening followed by the opening night celebration. SIFF will conclude with a Closing Night Gala screening at SIFF Cinema Downtown on May 24, with the closing party to follow at MOHAI.

The full program lineup and ticket information will be announced in the coming weeks.
