18 pivots later, Canlis is set to open its dining room for indoor service on July 1.

Indeed, we just received a nice little note in our in-tray this morning from Canlis. The news – they are opening their acclaimed indoor dining service starting July 1.

It’s been a busy 15-months for Canlis as they creatively worked their way through the pandemic.  Pivot after pivot (18 in all) Canlis has stepped up to the challenges that the Covid-era brought to bear on the restaurant industry.

Now, Canlis is done with the pivots and will once again swing open their doors to their amazing view and fabled table service.

But, before that happens, you still have a chance to enjoy some of the ingenuity that kept Canlis humming through the pandemic.

Canlis introduces Care Packages

Camp Canlis Care Packages consist of a box of Canlis’s favorite things mailed to your doorstep. Packages include items from Eddie Bauer, Pilgrim Coffee, Beau Rush, Ayako & Family, Wildwood, and the Canlis kitchen. The care packages are available until sold out. As Canlis notes: “for when these are gone, we’re movin’ on. It’s time.” 

Grab some BBQ at The Canteen for old times sake

The Canteen at Camp Canlis offers counter service for outdoor, casual smokehouse fare. Sit by a campfire and enjoy some BBQ and booze while you forget your worries. You’ve got until July 1 to get your Texas on.

After that, the only time you can experience the parking lot is when you pull up for dinner and your car is whisked away. Only to magically return when your night has come to an end.

Last time we checked, there did appear to be some tickets available for The Canteen. 

In the meantime set your alarm for June 9 when Canlis reservations go on sale. There is no doubt a pent up demand and reservations will fill quickly.
