All Smiles (and Scares) at the Great Pumpkin Beer Festival
The Great Pumpkin Beer Festival took over the Seattle Center Grounds this past weekend and judging by the smiles on everyone’s faces – it was a big hit.
This marked the 20th year that the fest has been bringing the best in pumpkin-inspired beer to Seattle. And, there were plenty of suds to choose from. Some of our favorites included Porter Pie and Dark O’ The Moon, both from Elysian. The brewery also featured a nice little brew for the rum lovers out there. Aged in rum barrels, this savory stout was appropriately named Rum Fix.
Republic of Cider brought a tasty plum cider to the table. And, for another excellent cider sip, Soundbite shared its Maypellene – a little habanero spiced up this pumpkin cider quite nicely. Seapine Brewing weighed in with its Fest Lager – a nice, clean Octoberfest lager that matched the crisp, cool weather on the grounds. One of our final tastes of the evening was Elysian’s ’22 Old Fashion. Described as “being like a rye barrel-aged pumpkin pie in a rocks glass,” it was impossible to pass up.
Of course, we had many other amazing brews in between. With over 80 craft beers and ciders on hand, suffice it to say we didn’t make it through all of them. But we’ll pick up where we left off at next year’s Great Pumpkin Beer Festival.
