AFROPUNK Debuts in Seattle with KEXP, Friends of Waterfront Park and Elysian Brewing
AFROPUNK, a music fest celebrating Black culture and diversity, is headed to a waterfront near you. This Saturday, Pier 62 in Seattle will be nothing but vibes when the inaugural AFROPUNK fest kicks off at 2pm.
Artist Cautious Clay will be rolling into town to headline the whole affair. Other talent swinging by the stage throughout the day include acts like Black Ends, BLAST, Lace Cadence, and Faridaguyzzz. KEXP’s Eva Walker will host the event, which aims to showcase both established and emerging artists while spotlighting Seattle talent and community organizations.
The fest is an all day (and all ages) celebration. Fest-goers will be able to fuel up at a variety of food trucks that will be pulling up on the pier for the event. Also, for those 21 and over who enjoy an adult beverage, a beer garden will be available – it is an outdoor festival after all. Elysian Brewing will be on hand with their limited-edition AFROPUNK Kolsch, created exclusively for the event. And, Seattle’s premier Black-owned brewery, Metier Brewing, will also have a guest tap in the beer garden.
