As a founding sponsor for over three decades, BMI is once again showcasing the best up-and-coming music at SXSW 2024. From March 12th to 15th, a packed schedule of events promises to deliver a diverse range of talent across multiple genres.

The festivities kick off on Tuesday, March 12th, with the “Howdy Texas” party celebrating the 5th anniversary of BMI’s Austin office. Held at Still Austin Whiskey Co., this free, public event features nine Texas-based artists representing a wide range of styles, from R&B and Americana to Latin pop and classic Texas rock. Rising stars like Alesia Lani, Ruthie Craft, and The Tiarras are just a few acts gracing the bill.

For a multi-day immersion, head to the YETI Flagship on South Congress from March 13th to 15th. The annual YETI Music Showcase welcomes eighteen diverse acts across three days. Dive into the sounds of psychedelic rock, introspective pop, contemporary country, and more. Check out Alec Meza, Giovannie & The Hired Guns, Chloe Tang, Winona Fighter, Zach Person and others at this free, public event that includes drink specials, food pop-ups, and other surprises along the way.

For a more intimate experience with established songwriters, don’t miss the BMI Songwriters Circle held on Thursday, March 14th, at Luck Reunion’s Revival Tent. Catch Tyler Halverson, Kade Hoffman, and Harper O’Neill at this ticketed event as they perform the songs and stories familiar to many.

Finally, for an industry-exclusive event, the BMI Brunch is a coveted tradition at SXSW. Held at Geraldine’s at the Hotel Van Zandt on Friday, March 15th, this invite-only event features a lineup that will have you bouncing from one stage to the next in this two-stage showcase.

We were there last year, and there’s a reason this was one of the buzziest events of the fest. This year, the stages will host the eclectic sounds of artists like Ethan Tasch, Matilda Marigolds, and Swamp Dogg, among others.
