‘Food That Made Us’ Celebrates Immigrant Heritage Month in Seattle with Free Food Trucks
What better way to celebrate Immigrant Heritage Month than joining our neighbors over a shared meal and conversation. But not just any meal.
This year, the “Food that Made Us” food truck tour will be pulling into Seattle this Friday and Saturday, June 17 and 18.
The festivities kick off on Friday at Gas Works Park from 12 – 6pm.
The Immigrant Heritage Month food truck will be on hand with curated bites made from personal recipes provided by celebrity chefs. Hawa Hassan, Joanna Chang, Byron Gomez, Tom Colicchio, and Christine Hà have all contributed their stories through the recipes they’ve shared.
In addition to the IHM food truck, the Thai U Up food truck (which can often be found in Burien and White Center) will be on hand serving food.
On Saturday, June 18, community-building through the power of food continues as the food trucks make their way to Hing Hay Park from 12 – 6pm.
This marks the 9th year celebrating Immigrant Heritage Month. All parts of the event – including the food trucks – are free and open to the public.
