Michael Nank
Founder & Editor, Mixyplix

Michael Nank is the founder and editor of Mixyplix, an independent Seattle-based publication covering arts, culture, music, film, theater, food, travel, and the people and experiences that make the Pacific Northwest worth exploring.
Michael launched Mixyplix in 2017 with a simple idea: encourage people to get out into the world and experience more of it.
That philosophy continues to shape his work today. About Mixyplix →
As editor, Michael oversees Mixyplix’s editorial direction while reporting on the people, places, performances, events, and cultural experiences that define Seattle and beyond. His coverage includes music festivals and concerts, film festivals and movies, theater productions, restaurants and food events, travel, and the broader arts and culture scene.
Reporting From the Experience
Michael’s approach to storytelling is grounded in firsthand experience.
Rather than simply reporting what an event, restaurant, performance, or festival is supposed to be, Mixyplix aims to experience it and tell readers what makes it worth their time.
His reporting has included coverage of the Seattle International Film Festival, Vashon Island Film Festival, Sundance, SXSW, Toronto International Film Festival, Seattle theater productions, Seattle music venues and festivals, restaurant openings, food and drink events, and cultural events throughout the Pacific Northwest.
His work frequently includes conversations with artists, musicians, filmmakers, actors, chefs, restaurateurs, organizers, and other people creating the experiences Mixyplix covers.
