Black Arrows Coffee Blends Community with Caffeine

At Black Arrows Coffee in Belltown, people show up to grab a cup of coffee, catch up with friends, and usually lingering longer than they planned. That energy is exactly what co-owner Daniel Zamudio and his team wanted when they opened Black Arrows Coffee in Belltown. “We are drawn to spaces where people gather, connect, and create memories around coffee,” Zamudio says. At Black Arrows, it is not just about the drinks but the conversations, laughter, and small moments that happen while a latte steams on the counter.
Seattle was not part of the original plan. Zamudio and his partner moved north for work and quickly discovered the city’s deep love for coffee. “Seattle has a long and rich coffee culture, and we’re honored to be part of it,” he says. The support from neighbors and local coffee lovers made it clear that opening a café here was the right choice.
The heart of Black Arrows is the people who pass through its doors. You might see regulars chatting over their morning espresso, friends sharing a pastry and a laugh, or a couple leaning in to catch up by the window. Those moments are what give the café its welcoming vibe. The café also offers classes like Pour Over 101 and Espresso Basics. Twice a month, guests can join cuppings to taste coffee side by side, explore different origins, and learn what goes into every cup.
Rave Reviews
Coffee Raves are a high-energy, fun part of the Black Arrows story. These occasional Saturdays combine music, coffee, and community. “The coffee raves were a way to merge our love of music, community, and caffeine,” Zamudio explains. Music, coffee, and the occasional weekend event draw people in, but the daily connections remain the core of the café.
Dogs are also part of the experience. Moka and Luna, the shop’s resident pups, roam the café and have become unofficial mascots. Their wagging tails are hard to resist as they move about the tables. If you’re a dog lover, there’s plenty to love here.
At Black Arrows, the focus goes beyond coffee. Every detail, from the beans to the staff, creates a space where people feel welcome. “Starting a small business gave us the freedom to shape an experience centered around hospitality, quality, and creativity,” Zamudio says. Black Arrows Coffee is a place where Seattle’s love for coffee meets real community, one cup at a time.
