‘Big Night’ Lights Up Bakke Coffee Museum Outdoor Screen

Heads up, Seattle food and film fans: Bakke Coffee Museum is back with another outdoor movie night.
On Friday, August 29, grab your chair and head over to the museum’s parking lot for “Big Night” (1996) — the cult classic about two Italian immigrant brothers trying to keep their struggling New Jersey restaurant afloat. Stanley Tucci and Tony Shalhoub lead the cast, alongside Isabella Rossellini and Minnie Driver. But the real star? The food. Can you say timpano?
The movie kicks off around dusk (about 8 p.m.), but the museum opens at 6 p.m. – giving you a chance to check out one of the world’s largest espresso and coffee machine collections before settling in.
It’s a free event, but space is tight, so RSVP is a must (hit up Brown Paper Tickets to save your spot). Pro tip: bring a chair and layer up – the evening can get chilly.
Never been to the Bakke? If you can’t swing by prior to the movie, the museum’s open for walk-in tours on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays through September (12 to 4 p.m.) and is packed with coffee gear that’ll make you rethink your morning brew.
So, whether you’re drawn by the film’s iconic Italian fare, the impressive espresso machines, or just a fun night out, “Big Night” at Bakke Coffee Museum is a sure shot.
When: Friday, Aug 29, movie starts at dusk (~8 p.m.)
Where: Bakke Coffee Museum, 4600 Shilshole Ave NW
