Mixy Music Monday: Christine and the Queens Drops New Music Video for “Catching Feelings”

Fresh off a performance at the Cannes Film Festival along with a high-profile show at the Paris Olympic Games, Christine and the Queens has released a new music video for “Catching Feelings,” a collaborative single with French disco pioneer Cerrone.

The video, which Christine directed himself, offers the first look at a new four-track EP the artist is set to release in the coming months. The slow-burning disco track and stylized video is dancefloor-ready and continues Christine and the Queens’ track record of pairing music with theatrical.

The project also marks a reunion between Christine and Cerrone, who first performed together during a reimagining of Cerrone’s disco classic “Supernature” on a stage surrounding the Arc de Triomphe. That performance sparked a creative connection that led the two artists into the studio, ultimately resulting in “Catching Feelings.”

The track and video arrive at a time when Christine and the Queens – known for pushing boundaries around gender, identity, and performance – continues to evolve his artistic identity. Cerrone, now 73, is widely regarded as a pioneer of French disco, known for shaping the genre with hits dating back to the 1970s.

With albums like “Love in C Minor” and “Supernature,” Cerrone helped define the lush, beat-driven sound that would go on to influence generations of dance music producers, from Daft Punk to modern house DJs. Christine’s collaboration with Cerrone represents a rare intergenerational crossover between the legacy of French disco and the modern pop avant-garde.

“Catching Feelings” is now streaming across major platforms, and the video is available on Christine and the Queens’ official YouTube channel. No official release date has been announced for the EP.
