SIFF to Close With A24’s ‘Sorry, Baby,’ Eva Victor in Attendance
"Sorry, Baby" to close SIFF 2025

If you’re keeping score at home, SIFF just announced its closing night film for this year’s fest – which is just one month out. Following the previously announced opener “Four Mothers,” the 2025 Seattle International Film Festival will close with Eva Victor’s “Sorry, Baby,” an A24-backed seriocomic feature making its Northwest debut on Saturday, May 24, at SIFF Cinema Downtown.

Victor —  known for her performance on Billions — pulls triple duty as writer, director, and star in her feature debut, which premiered earlier this year at Sundance, where it took home the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award. The film follows Agnes, a graduate student-turned-professor navigating the emotional wreckage of a traumatic experience. Told through a fragmented, nonlinear narrative, “Sorry, Baby” traces Agnes’s path toward healing through unexpected encounters with a subtle dose of humor and warmth.

The film strikes a balance between vulnerability and offbeat humor — the kind of character-driven indie fare A24 has built its reputation on. Victor’s turn as Agnes is intimate and sharply drawn, and the supporting cast keeps the emotional stakes grounded and the quirks charming.

SIFF Closing Night

Victor will be in attendance for the Seattle premiere, lending some additional star power to the festival’s final night.

But the curtain won’t fall at the final credits. SIFF’s Closing Night Party will immediately follow the screening at the Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI), inviting festivalgoers, filmmakers, and industry insiders to raise a glass to this year’s lineup and celebrate the end of a packed fest.

Bookended by the cheeky “Four Mothers” and the tender “Sorry, Baby,” the slate for this year’s SIFF is starting to come into focus, with the full line-up dropping next week.
