Downton Abbey Revels in Fashion, Film at Pacific Place

Downton Abbey fans have had to wait three years for their next Crawley family fix. Finally, that wait is over.

Based on the hit PBS series, Downton Abbey makes the jump to the big screen starting September 20. With its picturesque setting and lavish fashion, Downton Abbey found an ardent following over its six year span. Fortunately, fans will once again get a chance to revel in its royalty.

Royalty, indeed. The movie centers around a major event for the Crawley family which involves a visit from King George V and Queen Mary.

Fashion Meets Film at Downton Abbey Screening

The premiere serves as a fitting vessel for “Fashion Meets Film,” a Pacific Place affair. On September 21, Pacific Place becomes Highclere Castle as it hosts a screening party for this award-winning, period drama.

Thus, the festivities appropriately kick off at 10 am with mimosas and light breakfast nosh. In addition, two local fashion experts will be on hand to provide a preview of 2019 fall fashion trends. And then, the much anticipated film hits the silver screen at 11:30 am. The 1920s never looked so good.

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed at the screening. Always fond of their dogs, Teo was introduced into the Crawley family in the sixth and final season. Dog lovers have The Dowager Countess to thank as she gifted the dog to her son, Lord Grantham

With a nod to Teo, the loving Yellow Lab graced this recent movie poster.

Teo, featured posing on a chair in one of the new posters for Downton Abbey, is the Crawley family’s third yellow lab.

Record Ticket Sales

If first day ticket sales are any indication, Downton Abbey will be a box office hit. Fans have scooped up advance tickets at an all-time rate, outselling Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Tickets for this event are $20 with all proceeds going to Mary’s Place, which helps women and families move out of homelessness into more stable situations.
