Experience Seattle Like Never Before
Seattle lays claim to the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, Chihuly Garden and Glass, Museum of Pop Culture and a host of other top attractions that draws tens of millions of visitors to Seattle every year. Yet, there is another side of Seattle that some visitors, and even some longtime residents, have yet to experience.
What screams Seattle more than hopping in a rowboat and gliding through its urban waterways past houseboats with the city skyline as a backdrop, or digging for clams on the Hood Canal after a stunning ferry ride from Seattle to Bainbridge Island?
To make sure visitors have access to such Seattle adventures from its locally led Experiences program, Airbnb has teamed up with Visit Seattle to offer up the aforementioned, and other, uniquely Seattle experiences that promise to get you to fall in love with a side of Seattle you may have never seen before.
“We’re excited to work with Visit Seattle to encourage visitors and locals to get off the beaten path and discover a new side of the city,” chimed in Aoife McArdle, Director of Business Affairs and Social Impact Experiences at Airbnb, in a partnership announcement earlier this week.
To hasten that journey, local Airbnb hosts will be offering their take on a unique Seattle experience for visitors and residents alike, for only $5 per person. Airbnb Experiences typically start around the $35-$50 range and can reach $100 or more depending on the experience.
Airbnb’s impact on the region is not lost on Visit Seattle President & CEO Tom Norwalk. “By providing guests with unique Seattle experiences, Airbnb can be an influencing factor in driving visitation and this partnership helps connect our local Seattle partners to this far-reaching global audience,” Norwalk said.
If you call Seattle home and think you have a unique experience to share with visitors, Visit Seattle and Airbnb are also encouraging Visit Seattle members to become Experience hosts.
The following Experiences will be offered by Seattle Airbnb hosts starting on August 9, at 12 p.m. PST, until midnight or when the seats on each Experience are booked, whichever comes first.
